ART
Art encourages children to express ideas and feelings
about the world God has created. In the second grade
art program, students will create visual pieces from
leaves, flowers, insects, snowmen, trees, and household
objects. Students will view the work of artists such
as Georgia O'Keefe, Grant Wood, Monet, and Turner. They
will also incorporate holidays into various art projects.
The art curriculum mirrors the requirements as set forth
by the State of California Standards department. NPLA
accepts these standards as minimum competencies and
expect our students to not only meet but exceed the
state standards across each discipline.
