MUSIC
Suzuki International, 2004
Performing, creating, and responding to music are fundamental
skills for elementary students. Second graders are encouraged
to sing, play instruments, move to music, and create
their own music. Musical concepts and skills are developed
sequentially by focusing on musical themes, cultural
themes, and special units. Students are challenged to
explore music as an avenue to learn about God, their
world, other people, and themselves. The music curriculum
mirrors the requirements as set forth by the State of
California Standards department. NPLA accepts these
standards as minimum competencies and expect our students
to not only meet but exceed the state standards across
each discipline.
