SOCIAL STUDIES
ACSI / Abeka Books / Plato Learning, Inc.
The fourth grade social studies program concentrates
on six units reflecting the five regions of the United
States: Northeast, Southeast, Middle West, Southwest,
and the West. The first unit of the text introduces
how to study these regions, making special note of the
geography, culture, climate, resources, people, and
government. Through a variety of thinking skill activities,
reading & writing exercises, cooperative learning

develop a solid foundation of the country in which they
live. Students also take part in an extensive study
