5th GRADE CURRICULUM |
BIBLE
Witnesses to the Gospel, ACSI, 1999
NIV Textbook Edition Bible, Zondervan
The fifth grade curriculum helps students to understand
and imaginatively experience the context in which the
Bible stories happened. Focus on understanding Bible
times, the books of the Bible, and the kinds of writings
in the Bible support the students' comprehension of
the Word. The units examine the Gospels, the New Testament
letters and the Book of Revelation. The books of Psalms,
Job, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and the books of Prophecy
will be taught from the Old Testament.
Bible Skills Emphasis:
- Inductive bible
study
- Using reference materials
- Scripture memorization
- Interpreting God's word
- Comparing biblical prophecies
- Identifying and applying
biblical truths to daily living
- Developing map skills
