All music is made up of elements such as rhythm, melody,
harmony, style, and tone color. Much like a country's
language and customs, music represents a country's culture.
Students will examine the role music has played in shaping
civilization and musical traditions. A strong emphasis
is placed on the study of music theory and notation.
As students learn the language of music, they will be
able to reinforce and expand their abilities to read
and communicate through music.
