SOCIAL STUDIES
ACSI / Abeka Books / Plato Learning, Inc.
The social studies program is designed to make students
aware of their environment and its relationship to daily
living. Children learn about themselves, their neighbors,
and concepts about family, community, states, and the
world. Special focus is placed on holidays, commemorative
days, and famous people of our time. Students are exposed
to geography, introduced to map skills and made aware
of various cultures through missionary work in our country
and other lands. The Social Studies curriculum mirrors
the requirements as set forth by the State of California
Standards department. NPLA accepts these standards as
minimum competencies and expect our students to not
only meet but exceed the state standards across each
discipline.
